5 Tips to Extend GoPro Battery Life
Here are some useful tips that will help you improve the battery life of your GoPro action camera:
Tip #1: Turn on Auto Power off
If you don’t already know about this feature, it will be interesting for you to learn this. When you turn on ‘Auto Power off’, your GoPro automatically turns itself off after two minutes of being inactive. This is a great feature for anyone who wants to save battery life. It can be really helpful if you’re not sure how long the video or photo session may last and want to conserve as much power as possible. You can enable this auto-shutoff by going into Settings>Auto Power Off
Tip #2: Use Sleep Mode
The Sleep Mode allows for one final video clip to be recorded before shutting down, while preserving battery life. This can be enabled from Settings > General on your GoPro. Put your action camera into sleep mode when you are done recording so that it’s less likely to turn on accidentally.
Tip #3: Remove Unnecessary Mounts/Accessories
The additional mounts and accessories require more power and therefore reduce the battery life of your camera as well as increase charging time. So, try removing any unnecessary attachments like external microphones etc. to extend your GoPro’s battery life.
Tip #4: Turn off WiFi
If you’re not using the GoPro remote control or the smartphone app, then it would be a good idea to turn off your action camera’s Wi-Fi. This will save battery life by preventing unnecessary transmission of data.
Tip #5: Reduce the Resolution & Frame Rates
If you’re looking to keep your GoPro’s battery life lasting longer, consider taking the easy route by reducing its resolution or frame rate when shooting videos. Lowering these settings can help give more time for capturing footage of those special moments without having to worry about charging in between!
Concluding Remarks
The lightweight and compact GoPro cameras are perfect for capturing your amazing moments. But, you might want to make sure that its battery life lasts long enough. To do this, just follow the above-mentioned simple tips. These tips will extend your action camera’s run time significantly!
However, if these don’t work out for you or if you don’t like being limited in terms of features, then consider carrying spare batteries so they can be swapped when needed.
