How to Use GoPro while Fishing
Filming your fish huntings can be really interesting, and at the same time it can get quite tricky without the right GoPro settings and GoPro fishing mounts. If you are out fishing, attaching a GoPro with different clamps and mounts to your boats/kayaks it’s almost essential if you want to enjoy this activity. The mounts mentioned in the above section can be placed in different positions to get the best possible shots!
Overall, I found the Suction Cup Mounts very useful because they can be clamped on any smooth surface on your kayaks or boats.
The picture above shows one setup with a Suction Cup Mount and GorillaPod Arm. The next image shows a suction cup mount attached directly on the front of the kayak. You can very quickly and super easily reposition the camera for different angles. If you are using it for the first time, make sure to tie it up well.
The Compass Mount for kayaks and boats is pretty awesome as well. You can rotate it in any possible direction and get the perfect shots. The image below shows a compass mount with GoPro attached.
Use GoPro Polarising Filters to Reduce Water Reflection
When shooting in spaces with a lot of glare like in water or snow, you can always opt for Polarising Filters. GoPro polarizing filters are used to filter out the sun reflecting into the water. They are of best use when you are filming in direct sunlight. We can call them some kind of lens filters which restrict the light entering your camera. They remove glare from non-metallic objects which in turn creates more naturally saturated colours. The pictures look less hazy and more vibrant with an increase in color saturation and contrast.
