A wonderful, lightweight camera – the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 is great for personal vlogging and filmmaking. However, one thing that I don’t particularly like about this camera is the lack of a rugged build (like GoPros). And, since it isn’t waterproof, you cannot use this camera underwater. That’s where the need for a waterproof case for the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 arises.

Design & Build
Built with hard plastic, this case has a sleek, black design that simulates the look of Osmo Pocket 2. It features two mounting brackets – one at the bottom of the handle and the other one at the rear. You can use these mounting brackets to attach the Osmo Pocket to any GoPro-compatible accessory. The camera compartment provides sufficient space for the gimbal to move around.
This waterproof case uses an internal rubber O-ring to be firmly held shut. The package also includes three anti-fog inserts which do a great job of absorbing moisture inside the waterproof chamber. This resolves the problem of fogging. However, please note that the anti-fog inserts need to be replaced periodically.
Waterproof Specs
The DJI Osmo Pocket Waterproof Case can be used up to a depth of 60 meters, which makes it a worthy competition to GoPro’s SuperSuit housing. So, you can go deep under the water with the camera for your underwater adventures, like deep-sea diving, without facing any issues.
Can You Use DJI Osmo Pocket 2 Touchscreen with the Case on?
The answer is NO. You won’t be able to use the touchscreen interface of your DJI Osmo Pocket 2 if it’s placed inside the waterproof case. Also, you won’t be able to make adjustments to the gimbal underwater.
That leaves you with just two physical buttons to control the Osmo Pocket – one to switch between photo and video modes, and the other to start recording or to take a photo.
Underwater Mode
Before putting your Osmo Pocket 2 inside the waterproof case, you should activate Underwater Mode. This is the instruction that comes with the waterproof case.
When the camera is in Underwater Mode, the gimbal is put in a slightly downward-angled version of Tilt-Lock mode to match the waterproof case. Owing to this setting, the camera does not capture the edges of the case. Also, the Underwater Mode adjusts the various camera parameters automatically based on lighting conditions underwater.
Is the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 Waterproof Case a Good Option?
To conclude, the DJI Osmo Pocket 2 Waterproof Case, undoubtedly, enhances the overall value of the Osmo Pocket camera. With the ability to go down to 60 meters depth underwater, this case is just like the GoPro Super Suit in terms of its capabilities. Therefore, with this case on, you can easily take your Osmo Pocket2 on your snorkeling or diving trips.
However, there’s one thing that we’d like to see in the Osmo Pocket 2 Waterproof Case – the underwater filters. Just like there are Shallow, Deep, and Dive filters for the GoPro Super Suit, there should be an upgrade to the Osmo Pocket 2 waterproof case too.
Is It Safe?
The waterproof case ensures that you can use the Osmo Pocket 2 underwater. This takes the Osmo Pocket 2 at par with the GoPro cameras. The case is well-built and durable. And, the fact that it also prevents fogging in the camera underwater makes it even more desirable. Coming to whether the waterproof case for Osmo Pocket 2 is safe or not, I’d say that upon usage, I felt that the case works exceptionally well underwater with no water leakage whatsoever! Overall, a quality product by DJI. Highly recommended!
