How To Update GoPro Hero 11 Black Manually

Mac OS

Here are the steps to update your GoPro Hero 11 Black manually using a Mac system:

Step #1: Download the Update File using this link.

Step #2: Insert your camera’s microSD card into your computer using a microSD card adapter or USB reader.

Step #3: Transfer the Update File to your microSD card. Here’s how to do it:

  • Open a new Finder window and select Downloads on the left to find the UPDATE.zip file.
  • Double-click on the UPDATE.zip file.
  • Look for your microSD card in the Devices section in the sidebar. It will be listed as Untitled (unless you renamed your card). Drag the Update File to your microSD card.
  • Eject your microSD card by selecting the eject icon

Step #4: With your camera powered off, insert the microSD card into your camera and power it on.

Your GoPro Hero 11 will automatically start the update. The camera will beep and turn itself off and on several times. A check mark on the front screen will let you know when it’s done.

However, if you get a ‘CAMERA UPDATE FAILED’ message, remove and reinsert the battery and restart from the beginning.

Note: Your camera’s battery must be at least 20% charged to install the update.

 

Windows

Here are the steps to update your GoPro Hero 11 Black manually using a Windows PC:

Step #1: Download the Update File using this link.

Step #2: Insert your camera’s microSD card into your computer using a microSD card adapter or USB reader.

Step #3: Transfer the Update File to your microSD card. Here’s how to do it:

  • Click the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your screen
  • Click “Computer” in the right-hand list.
  • Click “Download” on the left to find the Update.zip file.
  • Right-click on the UPDATE.zip file, click Extract All, and then Save.
  • The UPDATE folder will appear next to the original UPDATE.zip file you downloaded.
  • Look in the devices section on the left. Your microSD card will be listed here as “No Name” (unless you renamed it). Drag the Update File to your microSD card.
  • Right-click to eject your microSD card.
