With dimensions of 1.7 by 2.8 by 1.3 inches (HWD) and a weight of approximately 5.1 ounces, this camera features a rugged and compact body that remains waterproof up to 18 meters (59 feet) without requiring housing.
It’s equipped with a convenient magnetic and clamp mounting system, enabling easy attachment to a variety of accessories.
This camera comes equipped with two color touchscreens: a 1.4-inch front screen and a larger 2.25-inch rear screen. The front screen is especially useful for vlogging and selfies, while the rear screen provides a bright and spacious view for framing shots and reviewing footage.
Switching between the screens is a breeze, either by tapping the QS button on the side or using voice commands.
The touchscreens are responsive and user-friendly, though they might not be easily visible while wearing polarized sunglasses.
There are three physical buttons located on the camera. On the right side, you’ll find the power/mode button, which handles turning the camera on/off and switching between photo and video modes.
On the top, there’s the shutter/record button, allowing you to capture photos and start/stop recording videos. Lastly, on the left side, you have the QS button, granting quick access to the settings menu and facilitating the screen switch.
For connectivity and storage, the camera provides a USB-C port on the bottom, serving both for charging and data transfer.

The camera is equipped with three microphones for high-quality audio recording. While there’s no HDMI output or 3.5mm audio jack, you can make use of an optional adapter to connect an external microphone if needed.
Image Quality
The DJI Osmo Action 4 comes with an exciting upgrade in its image quality department. It now features a brand-new and improved 1/1.3-inch sensor, surpassing the size of the sensors in both the Osmo Action 3 and the GoPro Hero 11 Black.
If you’re wondering whether you should get a GoPro instead, read the following article>>>
While it boasts 10 megapixels of resolution, which may be slightly lower than the Osmo Action 3’s 12 megapixels and the GoPro Hero 11 Black’s 27 megapixels, the larger sensor size brings a delightful advantage.
The pixels are now bigger, allowing the camera to capture more light and detail, particularly in challenging low-light situations.
When it comes to video recording capabilities, the DJI Osmo Action 4 impresses with its ability to shoot up to 4K video at 120 frames per second (fps), matching the GoPro Hero 11 Black in this aspect.
However, it’s worth noting that the Osmo Action 4 differs slightly from the GoPro Hero 11 Black. While the latter can record up to 5.3K video at 60 fps, the Osmo Action 4 captures up to 4K video at 60 fps in a wider aspect ratio of 4:3.
Consequently, if you wish to fit your footage into the standard 16:9 aspect ratio, you’ll need to crop or stretch it accordingly.

The camera has various photo and video modes, such as single, countdown, standard recording, slow motion, hyperlapse, and timelapse. It also supports digital zoom up to 4x for photos and up to 2x for videos.
Stabilization
When it comes to stabilization, the camera offers you four fantastic modes to choose from, ensuring your footage remains smooth and steady.

So, whether you’re capturing fast-paced action or cinematic moments, you can trust this mode to keep your footage remarkably smooth.
HorizonBalancing
Ever worried about your camera orientation affecting your video’s horizon? Fear not! HorizonBalancing is designed to maintain a level horizon in your footage, regardless of how you hold the camera.
HorizonSteady
For the ultimate stabilization effect, the camera offers a combination of RockSteady 3.0+ and HorizonBalancing.
This powerful mode ensures your videos are not only silky-smooth but also maintain a perfectly level horizon, no matter how dynamic your shots get.
