GoPro Studio used to be bundled with the GoPro Quik app for desktop. However, in August 2019, the company announced that GoPro Studio has been discontinued and will no longer be available to download on its official website. It essentially means that if you download the latest version of GoPro Quik, you won’t get GoPro Studio along with it. Also, since GoPro has discontinued GoPro Studio, you won’t be getting any software updates, improvements, or support from the company for this app.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t download the app for your Windows 10 PC. Read on to know how you can download GoPro Studio.
Despite the fact that GoPro Studio has been discontinued, there are still ways to download it for your Windows 10 PC. One option is to search for the installation files on third-party websites, but this comes with the risk of downloading malware or other harmful software.

How Do I Use GoPro Studio on Windows 10?
Installing GoPro Studio is an incredibly simple job! Here are the three simple steps to install GoPro Studio on your Windows 10 PC.
- After you’ve downloaded the software from the above-mentioned link, just open the file. This will launch the GoPro Studio installer.
- Click NEXT at the bottom to install the app.
- Once the install is complete, launch GoPro Studio to add media from your camera or computer.
How To Edit Videos Using GoPro Studio?
After downloading and installing GoPro Studio on your Windows 10 PC, it’s time to start using it to edit your GoPro videos. Here’s the step-by-step guide on how to edit a video using GoPro Studio:
Import your GoPro videos for editing
First and foremost, you’ll need to open the GoPro App. Once you open it, the GoPro importer will automatically bring all your imported files into a blank GoPro Studio project. If you’re not using a GoPro importer, transfer the content that you wish to edit from your camera’s memory card to your computer. Now, just click import and navigate to the file where your GoPro clips are stored. To save the GoPro project, go to File > Save, choose a location, and name the project as you want. We recommend creating a New Folder on your computer to save the project and all the converted files.
View & Trim
After saving the project, open them on GoPro Studio. You’ll find all the clips you selected on the left side. You can play, review and trim each to ensure that all the best moments that you want to include in the final version are included. This can be done by dragging and dropping the ‘in and ‘out’ points as per your requirements. You can repeat this process with all the selected clips with multiple segments having all those great moments. Additionally, you can do some basic editing like rotating/flipping video, changing resolution, frame rate, playback speed, and quality.
Now, you need to add the roughly trimmed files to the conversion list so that you can start with the editing. For that select the clip and then, go to ‘Add Clip To Conversion List’.
Convert
Once you’re satisfied with how each individual footage looks, you need to convert the list of clips by pressing ‘Convert All’. This will convert all the clips and make them ready for editing. Lastly, Press ‘Clear All’ to clear your completed conversions.
Edit
When the conversion is completed for all the clips, click on ‘Step 2: Edit’ at the top of the window. All of your converted clips will automatically move to this step. Here you’ll be asked if you want to use a Pre-Made Edit Template or a blank one. Select the template as per your desired theme for the final film. You can do some great editing in this step with features like the ability to add music to the footage, using filters and effects, etc. to make your end result more appealing.
Export
After you’ve successfully created the video as per your expectations, proceed further to export it, so that you can easily share it with your friends and family. Click ‘Step 3: Export’ at the top of the window to do it and choose an export preset (the resolution that you need for the resulting video). You can also directly upload it on YouTube or Vimeo, or save it for watching later on your PC. Finally, name the video file and click export to save it to the desired destination on your desktop.

Is It Worth Using GoPro Studio on Windows 10?
Before downloading the software, you must take into consideration the fact that GoPro Studio has been discontinued by GoPro. You won’t get any support or updates to the app anymore. So, using an app that won’t ever be updated probably isn’t the best decision. There are plenty of other, much-advanced alternatives to GoPro Studio for Windows 10 in the market that you can consider. My personal favorites are – Adobe Premiere Pro, Filmora Wondershare, and Adobe Premiere Elements.
I’ve personally tried all of these video editors and many more. But, I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my videos on a regular basis because it offers many useful features, and people develop plugins for them to expand possibilities. Plus, you also get frequent software updates, and there are many free tutorials & guides online to learn more about them.
