5.3K is the highest resolution offered by the GoPro Hero 11 Black. In this ultra-high resolution, the camera supports frame rates of up to 60 FPS. In the 60/50 FPS frame rates, you get various digital lens options, including SuperView, Wide, Linear, and Linear+Horizon Leveling. At 60/50 FPS frame rates, you can slow down the video by up to 2x.

If you use lower frame rates (30/25/24 FPS) in this resolution, you’ll be able to capture footage at an even higher FOV, with the presence of the HyperView digital lens option on the Hero 11 Black.

4K

In the ultra-high 4K resolution, the Hero 11 Black supports frame rates of up to 120 FPS. This means that you can slow videos down by up to 4x. In this resolution, if you use 120/100, 30/25, or 24 fps frame rates, you’ll get digital lens options, including SuperView, Wide, Linear, and Linear+Horizon Leveling.

However, if you use 60/50 FPS frame rates, you’ll be able to capture footage at a higher FOV – HyperView.

2.7K

If you further lower the resolution to 2.7K, the Hero 11 Black supports even higher frame rates of up to 240 FPS. This means that you’ll be able to slow videos down by up to an impressive 8x. In this resolution, if you use 120/100, or 60/50 fps frame rates, you’ll get digital lens options, including SuperView, Wide, Linear, and Linear+Horizon Lock.

However, if you use 240/200 FPS frame rates, you’ll you won’t be able to capture footage in SuperView FOV. The options available in these FPS include Wide, Linear, and Linear+Horizon Leveling.

1080p

Just like in 2.7K, the Hero 11 Black supports even higher frame rates of up to 240 FPS in 1080p resolution. Therefore, like before, you’ll be able to slow videos down by up to 8x. In this resolution, if you use 120/100, 60/50, 30/25, or 24 fps frame rates, you’ll get digital lens options, including SuperView, Wide, Linear, and Linear+Horizon Lock.

However, if you use 240/200 FPS frame rates, you’ll you won’t be able to capture footage in SuperView FOV. The options available in these FPS include Wide, Linear, and Linear+Horizon Leveling.

Final Thoughts

To decide on which frame rate you should use on your Hero 11 Black, you need to consider various factors. The most important factor is your use case. If you are casually shooting footage, and don’t plan to slow it down later, then the 24 FPS frame rate setting should be okay for you.
