I often come across complaints from the users of these apps. The most common issue that users seem to face is that the DJI apps don’t work on Android devices. They are obviously frustrated due to this issue as it’s making it impossible for them to fly their drones.
DJI, a popular choice worldwide among drone enthusiasts, produces a wide range of drones – from small and lightweight consumer models to heavy-duty professional ones. To operate these drones, the company has come up with several apps meant for different models, including DJI Fly, DJI Go, DJI Go 4, and DJI Pilot.
In this post, I’ll resolve the most common problems that users face with DJI apps.
DJI App Not Working on Android
Since 2021, DJI apps are NOT available on the Google Play Store. DJI states that – “because the compatibility strategy between the DJI App and Google Play Store is changing, you currently cannot finish downloading and updating using Google Play.” As a result, many users are facing problems wherein the app doesn’t work on their Android devices.
You might be facing an issue with the DJI app because you don’t have the current version of it.
Download & Install the DJI App from DJI Website
To get the current version of the DJI Fly app on your Android device, follow these steps:
- Step #1: Visit DJI’s website on your Android device. Here are the links – DJI Fly, DJI GO, DJI GO 4, and DJI Pilot.
- Step #2: Click the ‘Download for Android’ button, and give your browser permission to download, if required. This will download the app’s apk.
- Step #3: Once the apk is successfully downloaded, locate it in the ‘Files’ app. It will be in the ‘downloads’ section.
- Step #4: After you’ve found the app, download and click it. You will now get a prompt to install the app and asked whether you want to allow installs from a third party. Hit ‘Accept’.
This will download the DJI Fly app on your Android phone. Once it’s downloaded, open the app and log in. I hope that installing the app on your device afresh solves your issue.

Update Your Android Version
Your device may be having an older Android version. So, update your device to the latest version to be able to access the DJI app without any issues. The DJI Go app requires Android 4.1.2 or later. The DJI Go 4 app requires Android 5.0 or above. The DJI Fly app requires Android 6.0 or above.
