Syma Drone X5C-1 Full Review
The Syma X5C-1 is a wonderful low-cost drone with a 720p HD camera and a 4GB MicroSD card for storage. It’s an easy flying quadcopter with simple controls and is equipped with sufficient power to handle light wind. The drone provides a great flight performance both indoors and outdoors. It is durable and can withstand multiple shocks. The package includes the already assembled quadcopter, a radio controller, a USB cable, AC adapter, a 2GB SD card, a USB key, an additional set of propellers, and instructions for use.
The quality of Syma X5C-1 is pretty decent considering the price. However, it surely cannot compete with the expensive drones offered by DJI, Yuneec, or GoPro. Overall, this drone is more of a fun gadget for beginners.
Here is my detailed review of a few important aspects of the Syma X5C:
Camera
Equipped with a 2MP camera, the Syma X5C-1 drone can capture 720p HD videos at 30 frames per second. The content is directly recorded on the SD card. However, since there’s no stabilization, the results can be a bit shaky. But they’re okay for viewing on a smartphone. After all, you can’t expect too much at such a modest price point.
Battery Life
The Syma X5C-1 features a 3.7-volt 500mAh battery pack, which offers about 7 minutes of flight time. though removing the prop guards and landing gear and detaching the camera will get you a few minutes more. Recharging takes roughly 90 minutes, but extra batteries are cheap and easy to find.
Parts
If you do break something or a motor burns out, Syma has made every part available for replacement and the included print manual has a diagram for how to break it down. You can also buy an updated camera with Wi-Fi to give you a first-person view (FPV) from the camera to an iOS or Android device.
Syma Drone X5SW Specifications

Syma Drone X5SW Full Review
The X5SW is an impressive, low-cost drone offered by Syma. It’s super easy to handle and can capture high-quality shots. With a 0.3 MP WiFi camera, the video transmission can be viewed in real-time. The drone is equipped with a 6-axis gyroscope system and a VGA camera. It’s, basically, a recreational drone that’s perfect for you if you’re just starting off with drones. Therefore, even if you’re a beginner, the drone will offer you super stable and enjoyable flights.
At just 119 grams, the Syma X5SW is a super lightweight drone. It takes around 120 minutes for the Syma X5SW to fully charge, and you get around 5-7 minutes of playtime on a single full charge. What’s more, the drone is suitable for day as well as night operations. Overall, like the X5C, the Syma Drone X5SW is a solid choice for beginners too.
Is Syma Drone the BEST Drone for Beginners?
If you compare the two, the Syma X5C-1 looks a tad bit better than the X5SW. The Syma X5C-1 is an incredible deal if you’re looking to get in the air and start grabbing aerial photos and videos. Arguably, this Syma Drone IS the BEST drone for beginners! More so for those who are just starting off in the world of drone piloting and want to learn how to operate a drone with a low-cost drone.
To conclude, I’d say that it’s always a wise decision to buy a low-cost drone like the Syma Drone as a beginner rather than spending a fortune on advanced drones by DJI or likes.
