First and foremost, the GoPro Hero 10 Black offers an impressive 5.3K/60fps maximum video resolution, which is a significant upgrade from the GoPro Hero 8’s 4K/60fps max resolution. The camera also features a 23MP sensor for capturing stunning photos, as well as HyperSmooth 4.0 image stabilization technology to keep your shots steady even in the most challenging conditions.

The GoPro Hero 8 Black, on the other hand, features a 4K/60fps maximum video resolution, which is certainly impressive and delivers excellent image quality. It also offers a 12MP sensor for taking high-quality photos and HyperSmooth 2.0 image stabilization technology for steady shots. Its 2.0″ touch screen allows you to navigate through settings and capture your footage with ease.

Here’s a detailed comparison of the two models to help you decide which one is right for you:
Design
In terms of physical design, both cameras look very similar at first glance. They both feature the same rectangular shape and small size that we’ve come to expect from GoPro cameras. However, there are some subtle differences that set them apart.

However, it’s worth noting that it may not be as effective as the Hero 10’s HyperSmooth 4.0 in very demanding conditions, such as when you’re skiing or mountain biking at high speeds. However, if you’re a casual user or shooting in less demanding conditions, the Hero 8’s HyperSmooth 2.0 is still an excellent choice.

The GoPro Hero 8, on the other hand, is equipped with the GP1 processor, which was a significant improvement over the processors used in previous GoPro models. While the GP1 is still a capable processor that allows for high-quality video and photo capture, it’s not quite as advanced as the GP2 found in the Hero 10. The Hero 8 can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second and 1080p video at up to 240 frames per second, which is still impressive, but not quite as powerful as the Hero 10.
Battery Life

Which Camera Would You Choose?
If you’re looking for a more recent and better GoPro camera, the Hero 10 is a clear winner.
Its improved image stabilization, higher video resolution, faster processor, and longer battery life make it the most advanced GoPro camera to date.
However, if you already own a Hero 8 and you’re happy with its performance, it may not be worth upgrading to the Hero 10.
The differences between the two cameras are relatively minor, and you may not notice a significant improvement in your footage.
