The Mini 2 drone by DJI is a vast improvement over the original Mavic Mini. To operate the drone using your phone, there’s a dedicated app by DJI – the DJI Fly app.
This app is designed to help drone pilots fly their DJI Mini 2 with ease. It lets you access all the amazing features of your Mini 2, plus it also allows you to get all the latest updates. When it comes to ease of use, the DJI Fly app has a simple and highly intuitive interface that’s incredibly convenient to operate.
In this post, you’ll learn everything about the DJI Mini 2 app: DJI Fly – its features, our review of the app, and how to download the app.
DJI Fly App for The DJI Mini 2
DJI Mini 2, which is a great beginner drone, works incredibly well with its companion app – DJI Fly. DJI Fly offers a lot of information about your drone and fits a lot of functions into the small screen of your phone. Everything is easy to get to, find, and change according to your conditions as well as preference.
The DJI Fly app is especially great for beginner Mini 2 drone pilots. It has everything that a novice operator would need to fly their drone. One thing that I particularly like about this app is that you get these quick shots feature that lets you get very cinematic-looking footage of the subject with just a couple of taps in the app.
However, there are a few shortcomings of the app too. First, there are limited manual camera settings. The lack of manual controls over the drone camera is a bit annoying sometimes. You can’t change settings such as aperture, exposure, and ISO. Second, I feel that there should be an Emergency Stop button near the Take Off button in the DJI app, which would be great in case of any untoward incident of the Mini 2 drone crashing.
DJI Fly – Features
Here are the main features of the DJI Fly app:
- Expansive drone camera view.
- Easy-to-follow flight tutorials to help you get started.
- Search function for discovering nearby Fly Spots and GEO zones.
- Advanced Editor platform with tools and templates for quickly editing and sharing work.
