In this article, you’ll find a workflow for editing your GoPro photos using the most common photo editors for Mac (and Windows).<\/p>\n

It goes without saying (but I\u2019ll say it anyways) that it\u2019s just as important to understand the editing process for photos as well. Luckily, without sound design and timeline sequencing, it\u2019s a bit simpler to do and quite a bit less time consuming.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve listed the top photo editing apps below, but for now, they are: Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop and Gimp. When I only have my phone, I\u2019ll use the Adobe mobile Suite.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the workflow using Adobe Lightroom:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Copy your best GoPro shots over your computer drive<\/p>\n

2. <\/strong>Download<\/a> and Open Adobe Lightroom<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> Create a new Catalog: click on [File] \u2192 [New Catalog\u2026] \u2192 [Save your Catalog]\n

4.<\/strong> Click on the Library tab and import your photos from your computer to the library by dragging them over<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> Click on the Develop tab to start editing your photos<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> Select the photo you want to edit and adjust white balance, tone and presence<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Or Add our GoPro Color Grading Preset Pack<\/a> (for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop)<\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> If the photo is grainy or noisy, then go down to \u201cNoise reduction<\/strong>\u201d and increase Luminance.<\/p>\n

9.<\/strong> If you shot in Superview and have lens distortion, you can reduce that by enabling \u201cLens Correction\u201d and select GoPro Lens.<\/p>\n

10.<\/strong> Export your amazing edit: click on [File] \u2192 [Export\u2026] \u2192 [Select a folder and file settings (jpeg, png, etc) ] \u2192 [Export]\n

Top 3 Photo Editing Apps<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

The following photo editors are widely used and highly rated by thousands of creators. They are all compatible with Windows <\/strong>and Mac.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Adobe Lightroom <\/a>\u2013 Simple and fast. It\u2019s a must-have app for both professional and amateur photographers. It\u2019s more geared towards image adjustment and correction, unlike the following, which is also for graphic designers. There’s also a mobile version that I found to be very practical.<\/li>\n
  2. Adobe Photoshop<\/a> \u2013 More complex. It works with layers and can accomplish amazing editing if you know how. As mentioned, this is geared towards graphic designers and photographers.<\/li>\n
  3. Gimp (free open source)<\/a> \u2013 A good free alternative to the Adobe suite (I used it for years when my budget was much tighter)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
